Who is the Tranquil Trekker?
I am a 30-something wife, doggy-mom, freelance writer, and avid Nature Girl. I enjoy pretty much any activity that gives me an excuse to be outside. I feel my spirit is renewed when out in nature so I want to use this blog to encourage others to enjoy this incredible experience. I also struggle with anxiety and seasonal depression and discuss natural and behavior-based methods to help control the symptoms of these disorders. I want this blog to be a place where I can share, with others, my successes and failures regarding my mental health journey in hopes that they will benefit, as well.
My husband and I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota so my posts primarily focus on activities in that area. However, we are also avid travelers, so I also outline the various journeys we embark on around the country. The Trekkers engage in a myriad of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, canoeing, 4×4 driving, car camping, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, road trips, and a variety of others.
